The Wheeler Center works to foster livable communities in Montana by focusing on policy issues directly improving quality of life. Our programs focus on sustainable development, accessible public services, and inclusive community planning. Through our initiatives we strive to create a vibrant, equitable Montana where everyone can thrive. Our goal is to build resilient, connected communities that support the well-being and prosperity of all residents.

The Wheeler Center hosted Anthony Romero, Executive Director of the ACLU on the campus of Montana State University to discuss redemption, prison reform and some of the cases the ACLU has taken on.

Ellen Frede, deputy director of early childhood learning with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation talked about the critical role of early childhood learning and why the Gates Foundation prioritized the funding of preschool expansion of quality and their goal to ensure all young children have access to high quality, effective and affordable pre-school.
