Use Your Voice: A Civil Conversation on Tax Policy

In a time when public trust feels strained and conversations around tax policy often turn partisan, the Burton K. Wheeler Center’s “Use Your Voice: A Civil Conversation on Tax Policy” brings Montanans together for thoughtful, solution-oriented dialogue. Held April 6–7, 2026 in Bozeman, Montana, this two-day civic engagement event convenes students, business leaders, policymakers, and community members for keynote discussions, expert panels, breakout sessions, and roundtable conversations focused on Montana tax policy, economic growth, and the future of our state.
The event features keynote speaker Bob Story, a respected Montana business and policy leader with decades of experience in economic development and state fiscal policy. Story will share insights on the evolution of Montana’s tax structure, the balance between competitiveness and fairness, and what responsible reform could mean for families, employers, and future generations.
Built on the Wheeler Center’s long tradition at Montana State University of advancing civil discourse and bipartisan leadership, this event creates a structured, respectful space for meaningful debate and collaborative problem-solving. Join us to engage across perspectives, strengthen democratic dialogue, and help shape Montana’s future.
